The Apostille Process
1. Document Verification:
The process begins by verifying the authenticity and completeness of your documents ensuring that all necessary signatures, seals, and information are present before proceeding.
The entire document must be present.
2. Notarization:
If required, CL Brown Notary Service will notarize your documents. This step involves a notary public witnessing the signing of the document and adding their seal or stamp to certify its authenticity.
3. Apostille Authentication:
Once your document is notarized, it is ready to receive an apostille. The apostille validates the origin of the document, making it legally acceptable in countries that are part of the Hague Apostille Convention.
For those countries that do not participate, a certification will be used instead of an apostille.
Certification often requires additional review by the United States Department of State or by the embassy of the destination country.
**In Maryland, the Apostille is issued by the Maryland Secretary of State's office, which is the designated competent authority responsible for authenticating documents for international use.
3. CL Brown Notary Service understands that different countries may have specific requirements for apostille authentication. They have the expertise to navigate these requirements and ensure your documents comply with the regulations of the country that the apostille will travel to.
4. CL Brown Notary Service prioritizes efficient service and timely delivery. They work diligently to process your documents and obtain the apostille as quickly as possible.
5. Once documents are reviewed and fees
submitted, an invoice will be submitted to
the client.
